Roundtable Discussion “Road Safety: From European Guidelines to National Practice”

On April 22, the Forum Hotel hosted a roundtable discussion entitled “Road Safety: From European Guidelines to National Practice”, dedicated to the implementation of European policies and best practices in the field of road safety in Bulgaria.

The event brought together experts, representatives of public institutions, members of the academic community, and professionals in the fields of transport and road infrastructure. Participants discussed current challenges, key issues, and opportunities related to improving the safety of road infrastructure in the country.

During the event, Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Eng. Ivan Tabakov presented the findings of the first comprehensive assessment of road infrastructure safety in Bulgaria. Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Eng. Vanina Katsarova focused on existing practices and future directions in the management of road infrastructure safety.

The discussion session that followed attracted considerable interest, providing an opportunity for participants to exchange expert opinions and practical ideas concerning road safety, infrastructure safety audits, and the need for consistent and sustainable measures aimed at reducing road traffic injuries and fatalities.

The roundtable served as an important platform for professional dialogue and knowledge exchange, while also highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts and institutional collaboration in enhancing road safety in Bulgaria.
